Food and Drinks Itinerary
Eat and Drink Your Way Through the OED
If food and drink are your thing, this two-day itinerary takes you to some of the best food and beverage venues you’ll find anywhere. Let’s get started in Rock Hill.
Day 1:
01 Morning
Kick off your adventure with a rich cup of coffee at either Knowledge Perk or Rock Hill Coffee. If you’re here on a weekend, start on a heartier note with an early brunch at The Flipside Restaurant—renowned for its cozy atmosphere and tasty comfort food. Downtown Rock Hill is a great place for strolling, shopping and simply whiling away the time until a midday meal.
When it’s time for lunch, choose between Midway BBQ or The Front Porch for a classic Southern meal. Midway BBQ in Union County delivers on quintessential South Carolina flavors — think beef hash, chicken stew and a refreshing glass of sweet tea. At The Front Porch in Chester County, you’ll enjoy the famed meat-and-three, with delicious offerings such as fried and grilled meats, macaroni and cheese and other sides.
02 Afternoon
Hop across some of the best breweries and taprooms in York County, a beer lover’s paradise, with options such as Slow Play Brewing, Legal Remedy Brewing, Hoppin’, Amor Artis Brewing, The Print Shop, Untamed Waters Brewing, Replay Brewing and The Common Market. Yeah, we have a lot of amazing choices!
When dusk sets in, you’re in for a foodie treat. Choose between Kounter, FM Eatery or The Pump House, each offering upscale dining experiences. Dinner at Kounter introduces you to the culinary creativity of 2023 South Carolina Chef Ambassador Rob Masone. FM Eatery, owned by celebrated Amy Fortes (a 2017 South Carolina Chef Ambassador) and Jon Fortes, presents thoughtful small plates. The Pump House, located on the Catawba River, charms you with not just its food but also stunning waterfront views.
What’s a gourmet meal without a nightcap? Conclude your epicurean day at Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails for a fine selection of signature or classic cocktails.
When you’re ready to rest and digest, consider spending your night at the Cambria Hotel Rock Hill, conveniently located next door to Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails. Unwind in their modern rooms, take advantage of the free WiFi and enjoy an indoor pool. Another great lodging option is the Hilton Garden Inn Rock Hill. Here, you can enjoy recently renovated rooms equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, a complimentary laundry service and a full breakfast buffet available to kickstart your next day.
Day 2:
01 Morning
Kickstart your day with a hot or iced coffee and a light breakfast from Jack’s Café. Mosey around The Mercantile while visiting the café, then head to Chester County for your next pit stop.
Soak up some of the sights and shopping before your culinary journey continues at The Wagon Wheel Restaurant. A beloved eatery since 1978, it’s the go-to place for local flavor. Don’t miss out on their famous hand-breaded and freshly sliced fried squash. Make sure to bring your cash; the restaurant doesn’t accept cards.
02 Afternoon
As you reach Camden, settle in at either Broad & Vine or Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge for a pre-dinner drink. Broad & Vine, a cozy wine bar, offers an automated wine system featuring more than 30 domestic and international wines and serves charcuterie boards and other light nibbles. Alternatively, Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge presents a menu brimming with wines, cocktails, beers, bourbons and tasty appetizers.
Time for the main event. Select from Mill Pond Steakhouse, Salud Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Lounge or BColson’s to satisfy your dinner cravings. Experience the rustic charm of Mill Pond Steakhouse as you savor delectable steaks and watch wildlife visiting the pond. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, indulge in the scratch-made menu items and margaritas at Salud Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Lounge. If sizzling steaks, fresh seafood and premium spirits are what you’re after, then BColson’s it is.
Retire for the night at one of our delightful accommodations. Experience a tranquil farm stay at Old McCaskill’s Farm B&B. Savor a farm-to-table breakfast featuring homegrown bacon, eggs, and/or sausage and homemade preserves. Alternatively, check into the Four Oaks Inn. Set in a historic 1860s plantation-style property, the inn offers three guest suites complete with luxury amenities and a sparkling pool sprawled across two acres. Enjoy a Southern buffet breakfast here to kickstart your next day.
