What’s in Season & When to Visit
Timing is everything for U-pick experiences! Below is a general guide, but South Carolina’s weather can have a big impact. Check what’s in season before you visit to get the best picking experience!
- Strawberries: April – June
- Flowers: April – September (depends on the type of flower)
- Blueberries & Blackberries: June – August
- Peaches: June – July
- Apples & Pumpkins: September – October
Black’s Peaches
Black’s Peaches is open all year, offering a variety of fresh produce along with baked goods, daily specials, sandwiches and more. Depending on the season, this York County farm also offers produce you can pick yourself, including strawberries in the spring, peaches and tomatoes in the summer, and pumpkins in the fall.

Bush-N-Vine Farm
Originally a peach farm, Bush-N-Vine in York County has been in the Hall family for more than 150 years. Guests are invited to pick their own strawberries, blueberries, flowers, peaches, blackberries, flowers and pumpkins, all depending on the season. Be sure to pop into the Farm Café before you leave for fresh donuts, ice cream, slushies, hotdogs and more.

Cherry Place Farm
This family farm is located minutes from downtown Rock Hill, South Carolina. Seasonally, the farm produces a variety of fresh produce. During the spring, there are ripe U-pick strawberries, and in the summer, you can cut your own flowers. The farm offers festive weekends in October, featuring a corn maze and pumpkin patch. To wrap up the year, Cherry Place Farm sells fresh Christmas trees and wreaths during the holiday season.

Cotton Hills Farm
This family-owned and operated farm in Chester County takes pride in growing flavorful, fresh produce. The farm offers a variety of U-pick produce, including strawberries, peaches, garden vegetables and pumpkins. The country store is a must-stop for local produce, jams, honey, and other homemade goods. Insider tip: Treat yourself to a scoop (or three) of their delicious ice cream after a day of picking!

Five Blossoms Farm
This family-run flower and small-scale beekeeping farm is tucked away in Clover, South Carolina. It produces specialty cut flowers for wholesale and floral designers and offers a few U-pick sessions and workshops by appointment only. Insider tip: Reservations tend to book out quickly, so be sure to plan ahead.

Hall Family Farm
Located in Lancaster County, Hall Family Farm is a popular U-pick destination, especially known for its strawberries and pumpkins. Visitors can enjoy picking fresh produce, navigating a corn maze, and savoring farm-fresh treats from their market. The farm also hosts seasonal events and offers activities for all ages, making it a fantastic spot for family outings or a day of outdoor fun. With picnic areas and scenic spots to relax, Hall Family Farm provides an immersive farm experience in South Carolina’s Piedmont region.

Indigo Iris Farm
This small, family-run farm in Clover offers pick-your-own flower sessions by appointment during the spring and summer. Indigo Iris Farm’s goal is to create a haven away from the hustle and bustle that sparks creativity through events, U-pick sessions, parties and more.

The Ivy Place Berry Farm
The Ivy Place Berry Farm in Lancaster County invites visitors to pick produce together, make lasting memories, and experience the joy of farm-fresh food. In the spring and summer, you can harvest your own strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, heirloom tomatoes, fresh vegetables, and even create beautiful U-pick flower bouquets.

McLeod Farms
Established in 1916, this farm in Chesterfield County is famous for its delicious peaches and a variety of other fresh produce. Visitors can enjoy U-pick strawberries, filling their buckets with juicy berries straight from the field. With over 800 acres of peaches, 60 acres of strawberries, and 10 acres of blackberries, McLeod Farms offers plenty of farm-fresh goodness to enjoy.
The Peach Tree Orchard
You pick or they pick—this open-air market specializes in peaches and other local vegetables. The Peach Tree Orchard also serves tasty ice cream cones, milkshakes, sundaes and banana splits.

Springs Farm
Springs Farm in Fort Mill has a little something for everyone. Enjoy freshly picked produce, baked goods, canned goods, boiled peanuts, old-fashioned soda, slushies and homemade soft serve. And don’t forget to pick a basket of juicy, fresh strawberries during mid-spring.

Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery
If apples are your thing, Windy Hill is the place to be in the fall. Pick your own apples (reservations required), sip on fresh-pressed cider, and don’t leave without trying their famous apple cider donuts.

Tips for a Great U-Pick Experience
- Call ahead or check the farm’s website for availability and hours.
- Dress for the weather—comfortable shoes and sun protection are a must!
- Bring cash or a card—some farms have farm stands with fresh produce and homemade goods.
- Respect the farm—stay on designated paths and only pick what you plan to purchase.
